Does having Plastic surgery a good choice?

The trend of having plastic surgery has been widespread all over the world. It’s not difficult to find that our lives are gradually overwhelmed by the massive images and the commercial advertisement about the reports of plastic surgeries. It’s no doubt that many teenagers are bit by bit under the influences of these offensive and massive media’s power. We can see that the number of teens who choose to have plastic surgery is on the rise. Recently, it has become a controversial issue whether the plastic surgery is violating the natural laws of creation and would bring people some negative effects or not.

There are two opposite attitudes that pulling against each other toward plastic surgery. Plastic surgery is a kind of surgery that contains the change of one person’s outside appearance and the reconstruction of the physical functions. The latter however is most widely accepted as the way to reconstruct one person’s innate defects which may bring some inconveniences in daily life. However, the former reason is the main controversial issue that people have argued about the most. Recently, plastic surgery has becomes a way people improve their outside appearance to be more attractive. Having a more appealing look strengthens people’s confidence and makes them more acceptable by the crowd. Although the right and freedom of pursuing one self’s happiness and good-looking is much acceptable now, it is also disputable that plastic surgery violates the natural laws of creation. In traditional views, the body was the gift endowed by the parents and God. To make changes of our body is disrespectful to our parents. A person should accept what you look like and try to make yourself satisfied with your own nature look without admiring those glamorous beauties. Once you change your native appearance, you will violate the laws of creation and even disrespect of yourself. Besides, plastic surgery may carry with some certain risks and side effects.

These two opposite attitudes toward the plastic surgery are continuously arguing with each other. Does plastic surgery a good choice to human beings? Whether having plastic surgery is a kind of freedom pursuing one self’s happiness or not, we still couldn’t make a clear and definite answer toward it.

The issue of plastic surgery combines aesthetic elements with social interaction, which involves creative discourse in everyday lives. Now the discussion about this issue has been shifted from your question to questions, such as,

1. Is Asian Plastic Surgery Erasing Ethnic Identity? (see http://www.makemeheal.com/news/is-asian-plastic-surgery-erasing-ethnic-identity/133 )

2. Does creating a new self on Second Life improve one's communication and interaction with others in her social life without plastic surgery? (http://thegridlive.com/2007/09/01/second-life-news-for-september-1-2007/)

The second one is more interesting to me. Have you ever been to Second Life (http://secondlife.com/ ) (SL)--a virtual world? I encourage you to read related articles or explore it in order to have a deeper discussion about this topic.

I can easily get your main point from your topic. It does forecast the thesis in your following paragraph. However, you can rethink your topic and make it a sexier one. You have pointed out the two opposite attitudes of the public about whether it is good or bad to have plastic surgery, but you did not tell the reader your point of view yet. So you might think of adding your viewpoint about the issue. By the way, I think you have stated the arguments well.
