Cosmetic surgery, the emerging culture and its relationship with social surroundings?
The trend of having cosmetic surgery has prevailed over the world and become prosperous recently. It’s not difficult to find that our lives are gradually overwhelmed by the massive images and the commercial advertisement about the reports of cosmetic surgeries. However, how the cosmetic surgery tends to be a social phenomenon? Actually, under the influence of the intense media’s power and the change of the social values toward the aesthetic, the idea of the plastic surgery is much more acceptable and popular than before.
Generally, modern people are more conscious of the images they present in front of the public. In fact, the judgments and impressions from others mostly play the key factors which affect the way people survey themselves. Therefore, we care what other people look us and are easily affected by the majority’s opinions which dominate the orientation of the social values. That is to say, the public attitudes toward the aesthetic, however, become the standards we fit to ourselves.
In the modern times, people have more high standards about their outer beauty. Due to the importance of the beauty has been highlighted in this modern time; the pursuit of the good look gradually becomes the trend that people are crazy about. Thanks to the advancement of the technology, the cosmetic surgery becomes the popular way that offers people the chance to improve their outside appearance to be more attractive. Having a more appealing look indeed strengthens one people’s confidence and besides satisfies people’s self-appraisal. Therefore, this kind of change can explains why the cosmetic surgery becomes the emerging culture in the modern times.
Actually, under the influences of the intense media’s power and the change of social values toward the aesthetic, the plastic surgery is no longer an ordinary surgical operation. The motive for the plastic surgery has transferred from the simple reconstruction of the innate defects to the pursuit of the perfect and gorgeous looks. This kind of transformation of cosmetic surgery to some extent reflects not only the change of the social values toward aesthetic and people’s attitude toward this technology.
Over the years, the primary motive of doing cosmetic surgery is to improve people’s appearances to be more attractive. In fact, the standards of aesthetics which dominate our way of looking ourselves have the relationship with the power of self-image. In fact, the inner version of how one person looks himself accounts for some elements we survey the values of ourselves. This inner version can be called self-image. Self image is the mental picture of what we think and look ourselves from our point of views. It’s just like a mirror which reflects the way we present out and gives us the reference to conform with. In the daily lives we may be unconsciously influenced by the images which creepily stores in our minds which called self-schema. The schema is the construction of our images dominates the private sides of our minds.
In truth, the good self-image has relation with the development of one person’s mental attitudes which might indirectly lead to different out looks on his lives. One of the articles published in the journal of American Salesman called power of self-image psychology, putting much emphasis on how self-image affects the attitudes people have toward their lives. In fact, the power of self-image to some extent influences the thoughts of people in an indirect way. For instance, this article concerns that having a good self-image is one of the key elements of having a more positives life. Thus those who have greater self-images are more confident of presenting in front of the public and sometimes are more willing to take risks. It means that those who are more optimistic about lives have more opportunities of being successful than those who have poor self-images.
The text apparently supports the ideas of how great impact self-image make on human beings. In fact, people are more conscious of the importance of the self-image and know well the benefits and advantages they could receive from a better self-image. Therefore, people are trying hard to find ways to improve their appearances. Being attractive builds up a greater self-image and thus enhances the confidence people have toward their lives.
One of the series of the TV program in America has also discussed about the issue of the self-image. The topic of the clip Image and self image mainly focused on how to do with self-esteem and its relationship to our feeling about how we look-our general appearances. The author mentioned that self-esteem has to do with our appearances.
Undoubtedly the self- image really has influence on the way we survey ourselves and the attitude we have toward lives. However, the standards of how we survey ourselves sometimes not only have relationship with self-image but also under the influences of the social values mostly. The public ideas and judgments sometimes are the standards which we always identify with. As I mention before, people are getting more consciousness that the pursuit of the better appearance is much more valued than before. Thus, the images we present in front of the others are important and sometimes are the impressions we leave to the public. To leave a good impression on the others, a better appearance is definitely under the consideration. This phenomenon gradually dominates the social values. We can find that in the modern society, the physical perfection one person pursuits of is basically built up under the high standards of the appearance.
Besides the factors discussed above, the intense media’s power and the cultural surroundings also play the important factors which affected the social values people have about self-image and the appearance; moreover, encouraging people to do cosmetic surgery. Over the years, our lives are overwhelmed by the great deal of the advertisement about the cosmetic surgery which highlights the magic effectiveness of the surgery. Moreover, by means of the prosperous media tools such as the magazine, newspaper, and the internet, people are much easily to receive the news and the massive images of the celebrities and famous idols. Actually, people maybe gradually influenced by these images and the ideas they publicize. The beauty and the fabulous features of those famous celebrities and idols are the patterns we would like to imitate. It seems that beauty has been highlighted and been viewed as the important factor in competing with others.
Indeed, the idea of cosmetic surgery is widespread in this modern time. In the article publicized in Greater Lansing Business Monthly Surgeons Enhance Patients’ Self-image points out the overall phenomenon of the cosmetic surgery. “If you do opt for a cosmetic procedure, you will join more than 10 million of your fellow Americans who had such procedures in 2005. This number represents an increase of 11 percent over the previous years and a startling 38 percent increase since 2000.” This study gives us the approximate number of the Americans who are taking the surgery. The uprising numbers show that more and more people are choosing plastic surgery as the way to improve their appearances. In the early time when cosmetic surgery is not so popular and acceptable, the only way to make oneself look more beautiful is by cosmetics. It is not difficult to find that most brands of cosmetic products claim the remarkable effectiveness after use, which appeals lots of beauty-pursuers to try.
However, as people have much higher standards about aesthetic, the make-up products are no longer sufficient for those who want to pursue the quicker way of becoming attractive once and for all. Instead, they are more apt to think of the cosmetics as the way to change their appearances which they have seldom thought of before. Therefore, this phenomenon indirectly contributes to the uprising rate of the patients taking cosmetic surgery every year. The popularity of the cosmetic surgery however represents a kind of new trend and new ideas of this modern time.
Although the pursuit of attractiveness and good identification may be the primary reason that promotes people to take cosmetic surgery, it doesn’t mean that those who take surgery are superficial. Actually, pursuing the beauty thing is a kind of human nature which is difficult to be eliminated. Having a good look is the dream of everybody’s. We all have desires to see the beautiful image of ourselves in the mirror. By doing the cosmetic surgery, we could attain what we can not attain before. The happiness and confidence which come from the satisfaction of having good-looking are exactly the human nature of making ourselves pleased.
The cosmetic surgery not only improves one person’s appearance but also enhances the confidence of one person. That’s why more and more people choose this way in order to make a big change. In this beauty- dominated society, we must indeed try hard to find the way to make ourselves look better and attractive. The host of one of the American TV series also agrees that beauty really does matter. In fact, we are living in an ideal world that we would just accept for the way that we are completely unnatural. Therefore, we don’t need to lie to ourselves that the first impression people have of us doesn’t matter at all.
Moreover, most people have consciousness that the first impression we leave in other people’s mind is really important. It is a realistic world which beauty and material enjoyment dominated all. The way we look and present decide what kind of person we are, and sometimes we would be labeled by the comments people give to us. Therefore, in order to be the focus of the attention and leave a good impression in the public, a better appearance is definitely significant and necessary.
However, the host is not telling us that a better appearance triumphs all. She is not persuading people to pursue the ultimate beauty or magnifying the importance of appearance. Instead, we should be at least conscious of some basis when presenting out in front of the public. First, the general cleanness and the smiles are the basic principles we should learn. The freshness and cleanness of a person would be the bonuses and may leave a good impression on people. Second, an appropriate dressing is also significant. It doesn’t mean that the glamorous clothes are the best choices. Instead, the clothes should complement your body shape and balance in harmony. Moreover, a good dressing can show you personal style and personality, but be care that- don’t over do it. And don’t fall into the fashion victims.
Undoubtedly, the pursuit of the beauty is a kind of natural instincts. In addition, having a gorgeous look as the famous stars is the dream of everybody. However, the appearance of a person is born with that we can not change. Nevertheless, the medical technology of cosmetic surgery becomes the way people could improve their looks they expect to have. That’s why the cosmetic surgery becomes the trend that people catch up with.
As a matter of fact, people indeed have the right to be attractive and pursue beautiful looks. However, the most important thing is that we should like our looks and accept the way we are born with. The cosmetic surgery indeed provides us the convenient method of making ourselves look better.
No matter one person takes the cosmetic surgery for the aesthetics reasons or for the construction of the innate defects; we should respect his choice and offer some appropriate advice to help him not to over pursue the beauty. Diane Gerber, the author of the book 100 Questions and Answers about Plastic Surgery says that “You should be able to clearly define your desire to improve aging or to enhance facial or body appearance. Others may support you in your decision, but the decision to have plastic surgery should be yours alone."
The cosmetic surgery really tends to be an emerging culture in these recent years. Apparently, from the above study of the relationship between the cosmetic surgery and the social surroundings, we can find that the self-reflection, the social values about the aesthetics and the popularization of the media all influence and change people’s attitudes toward the cosmetic surgery. The higher acceptance of this new medical surgery represents a kind of revolution of the traditional attitude toward cosmetic surgery. Definitely, this technologic surgery really provides modern people with a convenient and quick way of changing the appearance and even the attitude toward life.

The relationship between cosmetic surgery and the self-image
Why the trend of having cosmetic surgery has prevailed over the world?

[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
Focus on three parts:
1. People are getting higher and higher acceptance of cosmetic surgery
2. The media, the mass images of the beautiful celebrities, and the advertisements about the cosmetic surgery
3. The self-image, self-reflection and the social values
Social values affect the way we look ourselves.
[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
so i make a deep discussion about these three topics
[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
Search information in the key words

I made some revisions by referring to the comments I received from peer working.
5. What perspectives have you changed compared to your issue paper? Did you add your peer's opinions? Why or why not?
I did add my peer’s opinion in my issue paper because they pointed out the shortcomings that I did not realize before.

yes i do qoute
Elsa 說:
So you need to find more evidence instead of the scientific problems
Claire 說:
What words do you quote?
[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
the most important thing is you need to paraphrase them in your own ideas
[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
did you do that?(attacking)
(i can feel that
it's hard to say it over here

when i read your annatation, i find that overally there are not some serious problems in your article
[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
the grammar and spelling is ok
[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
the coherence is not too bad
Elsa

THE CONJUNCTION
Elsa 說:
Yes. So the peer feedback is important
Elsa 說:
I do add my peer's opinions, because they pointed out the weak point of my article. I know how to make my article more fluent by their opinions.
[ 耐心 patient] :) 說:
YES I ALSO AGREE THAT
Elsa 說:
To the fifth question.
Elsa 說:
(1) The weak point of my article is that I could not deny that those unborn babies have human rights too.

Research paper questions
3. Main points in each source that support your own argument/opinions.
Do you organize the relations in discourses with a smoth connection and transition between sentences?
Do you quote some words, phrases, or sentences directly from the original texts or paraphrase them?
>>Yes, I do quote some phrases in my paper but not much. Mostly I paraphrase the original articles and use my own words to explain.
4. Revisions that you have made compared to annotations.
Do you add your peer's opinions? Why or why not?
Do you polish your language (e.g., verb tense, s-v agreement, word form, run-on, sentece structure, informal, etc)?
>>I have made some correction. I much more focus on the conjunction problems when I'm writing. Moreover, I pay more attention on my grammar problems.
5. Perspectives that you have added or changed compared to issue papers.
>>In fact, through the research of this topic, I really get lots of information which I never thought of before. It is really interesting that the cosmetic surgery has close relationship with many social surroundings. Not until you make the deep study of one issue do you realize the complicated and profound meanings of it. I think that cosmetic surgery is really an interesting topic to discuss.
6.What revisions have you made compared to your annotations?
What drives you to make revisions? Do you polish your language and pay attention to cohesion and coherence in your final paper?
>>I think that the comments from the classmates and the advice of teacher are the main reasons that drive me to revise the annotations. Compared to the former annotations, I find that the conjunctions problems have decreased a lot. After all, I pay much more attention to it.
7.What perspectives have you changed compared to your issue paper?

Research Paper Presentation (questions)
This course takes a learner-centered process approach to writing. Peer response and revision is as important as the final product. The self-reflection task also addresses the dual audience of self and other.
The blog illuminates a writer's journey for the reader. You should manage and present various tasks and drafts in a clear way.
The textbook includes much information to train reader-judges. At this final stage of the course, please Review the main ideas that we cover in classes and look at the last chapter for editing skills, which would help you and your peers find major errors in logic and grammar.
To facilitate research paper presentation and sharing, please post your draft on blogs. Peer response should focus on the following questions.
1. Paper outlines with the title and 1-3 keywords (e.g., euthanasia, gay and lesbian marriage, animal rights, etc).
Do you search information using these keywords? In English or Chinese? Why?
Do the title and keywords forecast a convincing thesis or an attitude toward the subject?
2. Topics/themes in four annotations and their intended audiences (e.g., general, academic, customers, peers and friends, other).
Do the library and Web sources provide sound reasons and proper evidence?
Do you use shared contextual knowledge (e.g.,experiences, emotions, cultures) to support your argument and opinions?
3. Main points in each source that support your own argument/opinions.
Do you organize the relations in discourses with a smoth connection and transition between sentences?
Do you quote some words, phrases, or sentences directly from the original texts or paraphrase them?
4. Revisions that you have made compared to annotations.

Do you polish your language (e.g., verb tense, s-v agreement, word form, run-on, sentece structure, informal, etc)?
5. Perspectives that you have added or changed compared to issue papers.
Do you find weak reasoning and errors of logic (e.g., irrelevant, oversimplification, overgeneralization, false analogy, undefined terms, etc)?
Do you change your question or problem during the course of study?

Reflection 2
Reflection 2
This is the second meeting in this semester. Different from the first one, this time I have all my four annotations in the blog although they are not fully complete and organized. The main point of this meeting is focusing on the midterm exam paper. The original one which we have done in few months ago is really different from the revised version. This time, we have the comments from all the classmates in this class which sums total eleven. We need to adopt members’ comments and try to revise our article. However, this is really difficult for one person to make a big modification of his writing style which has been rooted in our inner patterns of grammatical system. Sometimes we know the problems of our own; nevertheless to accept the comments is one thing, to modify is another. Indeed, it is really difficult to modify the writing problems, but I will try my best to pay more attention to the blind points in the process of writing.
The main problem in my writing is the incoherence of each paragraph. The use of the conjunction words in the articles is really important. The way to connect your ideas is by using the conjunctions to make the whole article more fluent and organized. After the discussing with teacher and classmates, I learned some ideas and problems in my writing and also got the information of how to write my article well.
In the next part, I want to talk about my topic of the final paper. It’s been a long time since the first reflection had been posted. I remember that I have decided to make research about the relationship between the social values and the culture of cosmetic surgery. However, after I decide to choose this topic, I found that it is really difficult to find the research paper relate to the topic of the relationship between cosmetic surgery and self-image. Indeed I have the difficulty in getting the information. However, after surfing the Internet for a long time, I finally find a useful website that provides me with lots of articles that are helpful for me to go further to my study.
After getting the information I want and finishing the four annotations, the most difficult thing is to connect all the articles you have written into a large and coherent paper. In the process of writing, I have met the problem in connecting the four annotations together. Actually every article stands for different points and ideas. You must organize your whole paper into the coherent one. One of the ways to make essay more coherent is by using the transitional and conjunctional words well. This problem has been raised as my serious blind point before. This time, I pay more attention to this part when revising the draft and try to delete some inappropriate paragraphs which may make the audiences have difficulty in understanding. It really takes time in doing this long essay; however, once you finish it, you may feel a sense of accomplishment and feel much relieved.

Book Review group essay
This semester we have learned lots of writing skills and the steps of how to write an essay from the book “Steps to Writing Well” written by Jean Wyrick. This book guides us to write a variety of essays by following the steps from the basic elements to the advanced skills which provides us an elementary direction to the world of writing. In the following, we would make a brief introduction of this book
When composing works, we need to pay attention to several problems. Firstly, discover our audience is important. We have to change our style of writing and the form of composing our works so as to meet different readers request. Remember to organize our writings with clear thesis statements; we should not bore them with confusion, and disorder. Thus, to interest the readers with a sexy topic is really important. Also, choose to describe things in objective or subjective way. Different writing categories such as argumentations and descriptions have different writing methods. Secondly, try to convince the readers with abundant evidences to support our ideas. Besides, we can make our essays vivid by using sensory details. Thirdly, after finishing writing the articles, we have to revise them. Think of the questions such as whether the topics are too broad or too narrow, does specific ideas support our viewpoint and so on. Grammar, punctuation, word choice and usage are also what we should pay attention to. In addition, we could also ask someone else to look over our works, because with their help, we could find out more faults that we have not realized. Last but not the least, we have to write down the citation in a proper format.
All of these writing skills are contained in the book and really offers us a clear and complete guideline to writing well. Besides the brief introduction of this book, the following are some of the favorite chapters we think of as the most important and impress us the most.
To begin with, we discussed about which chapter is our favorite one. Most of us thought that Chapter 18 “Writing about Film” is the most impressive and interesting chapter. Sophia’s group introduced about how to analyze a film, and the clips they chose made their report become more abundant. We also connected this chapter with Jerome’s film class and Stewart’s movie discussion class. Then, we turned to regard some important writing skills when we are going to organize an essay. Recognizing your purpose and choosing the topic carefully should be consider in the first place. Knowing who the readers are, trying to interest and convince them with your unique viewpoints and feelings are significant. In addition, providing specific examples to support your ideas, building the arguments and giving out your position are necessary, too. In chapter 10, using appropriate tone and seeing the opposite points of view could help us to fight against those people who have opposite opinions.
Afterwards, the problems we should avoid became our discussing topic. In chapter 20 and 21, the usage of grammar and punctuation are pointed out. The order of time and space and the transitional words between each paragraph are also needed to be considered. Besides, we learned how to put the source and the author’s name in a correct form in chapter 14. The citation made the reference we used clearly. When we are going to write an article, remember to use the concise words and keep asking “why”. It can help us to express our meanings more concrete. At last, by the process of revising, our defects of writing can be improved. It is the only way to make our articles become better and smoothly.

Anticipate opposing views.
The classmates' comments are also very helpful~
In chapter 10 for example, when writing an argumentation esay, we have to use "appropriate tone"
Just like what Claire and I do. We have different standpoint toward abortion.

Others' pointview can complement our views.

Since both of us are making the same topic.
I would so much like to hit my room mates
by discussing your topics, I think you can really get some new ideas
new concept
YEAH
i agree with it
seeing the opposite point of views, you can find ways to "fight" back people that's in different position
and other people will also give you advice
Yeah.
Maybe we can talk about some problems should be avoid.

that's also the problems we should avoid
It does help~
Yes. It is the basic problems we should pay attention to.

It is hard to achieve all the points, so we have to learn and revise.
Revising is important

First of all, we have to discover our writing. We have to change our style of writing and the form of composing our works so as to meet different readers request.
Organize our writings with clear thesis statement, and remenber do not be vague in the writing.
We can make our paper better by revising.
Pay attention to our writings by using precise words and punctuation.
Avoid grammar and puntuation problems.

Everyone of us may point out the strong and weak point of our works.
Organize each paragraph logically. Make the argument and your interpretation clearly.

Later on could we compose our 500 words of book review by using some of the sentences in our conversation
Or shall we write the entire one with different styles and ways
so do we need to distribute these jobs
Maybe it works.
or we need to find someone to puzzle our discussion up
I do not know what the teacher wants

first, who is responsible to make a concise introduction of this book?
and then
some people do the middle parts
what are our favorite parts
this can use our diologues
what do you think about
Or we could compose it with the dialogue over here
can we?
I don't think it is a good idea to separate one article into four parts
Yes~
I think we can take advantage of the dialogues.
and write the chapter we liked
yeah

by means of the dialogue
and I would send them to one of you

and then send it to the third people

She wants us to introduce the book
and point out what's our favorite part of the book.

Ok. Claire and I can take it

and coherent
when will you finish it
I would put them on blog before 1/2
after we finish our parts
just put the blogger

So that's start
two hours discussiong
so first of all
As for me, I think that Chapter 18 "Writing about Film" is my favorite chapter
Me too.
And your report also impressed me.
MOVIE
We could connect the chapter with "Understanding Movies"
It's good~
Oh I am flattered
haha
I THINK
The clips you chose connect with our Film class.
Run Lora Run
When we are talking about movies, I think I would come up with Jerome Class~
stewart also talks movie in the oral training class
It's impressive to see the same clips in different classes!
And analyze the photography. Just like what we do on Jerome's class.
but can't put more emphasis on movie
Yes. I think we can talk about some writing skill in the text book.
Our group is talking about "Writing about Literature".
There are some things have to do when we are going to write or analyze the literature work.
I think it also applies to our reading in English or American literature.
We need to know what the author wants to express first.
and provide our own interpretation.
Yes, and that's really important, too
i think we can list some important writing skills
yeah
Recongnize your purpose.
The first main point in chapter 11 and chapter 12. (Description and Narration)
Put your purpose under arrangement
yeah the writing skill
argumentation
decription
By the way, we have to know who are the readers
To interest the readers~
with your own topic!
You need to make your readers be convinced.
Some experiences can support your perspective.
You are right
so we have to divide our paper in many parts
So we have to choose our subject carefully
Also, choose to describe things in objective or subjective way.
And supporting our ideas with some research.
yeah
and try to convince audieance
audience
you really did point out the point
Make readers see what you have found out and feel as your feeling.
Yeah, things that can move us can have stonger impact in our heart
It's just like Approach to American Literature
HAHA
and oral training
gee gee
Yup~
HA~The same skills can be used in all the classes.
All roads lead to Rome.
WE DON'T CARE THAT MUCH
HAHA
Besides, we can make our essays vivid by using sensory details.
yeah
tha;t the description
the chapter i report
Sight, hearing, smell
so it's the writting skill
Always asking "WHY" is also important
And with some logic in writting skills.
After finishing writing the articles, we have to revise them.
"Ask Why"
can be related to the Accounting class XD
so that;s the chapter 5
1. What is the most interesting part and persuasive point in your essay.
It is also needed when we are reading a story or poem.
2.Is your topic too broad or too narrow
3. What aspects might need more work
4.Does specific idea support your idea
Give out your position
That's what we have to check out
I agree your point
Yup.
All of the writing skill could be used in different types of writing
Yeah. You listed the points we should pay attention to.
After writing, we also need to revise~
Many problems in sentence clarity involve errors in grammar, punctuation, word choice and usage.
How to organize your essay effectively is significant.
Sometimes the readers might have trouble to understand.
1. Give your sentences content.
2. Make your sentences specific.
3. Avoid overpacking your sentences.
4. Fix fragments
5. Pay attention to word order.
This is the important points in Chapter 6.
yeah
so it seems that we have lots of things to talk
That is talking about how to make our meanings clear in each sentences.
yes
I think developing a concise style is also important~
tha's true
It is necessary to build argument when we are writing.
Explore the possibilities and your opinions.
Anticipate opposing views.
The classmates' comments are also very helpful~
In chapter 10 for example, when writing an argumentation esay, we have to use "appropriate tone"
Just like what Claire and I do. We have different standpoint toward abortion.
yeah
yeah
different people can find out one another's weak point
they could offer us some precious opinion
Yup~
And we also have to fight with each other to strengthen our viewpoint.
that;s right
Others' pointview can complement our views.
fight with othersXD
The point of view.
I usually fight with Elsa in the dorm. XXD
XDD
cool
No. That's not true~~~~
Haha
Since both of us are making the same topic.
I would so much like to hit my room mates
by discussing your topics, I think you can really get some new ideas
new concept
YEAH
i agree with it
seeing the opposite point of views, you can find ways to "fight" back people that's in different position
and other people will also give you advice
Yeah.
Maybe we can talk about some problems should be avoid.
grammar false
unorganized article
wrong word choice.
Sudden change in perspective.
It also pointed out some problems about errors in grammar
yap
In Chapter 21,also, talks of the importance of using punctuation
Yes~
that's also the problems we should avoid
It does help~
Yes. It is the basic problems we should pay attention to.
But after getting lots of information in writing skills, I think when I start to write something, I still lose some points.
It is hard to achieve all the points, so we have to learn and revise.
Revising is important
so we need to overcome these obstacles
The order of time and space the transitional words are needed to be consider. (Chapter 3)
Repetition of key words~
When we arrange the paragraphs
To present a clear thesis.
The beginnings and endings are the main factors to attract the readers.
YES
YEAH
Don't introduce new points or irrelevant material.
you guys really point out many ideas
but we think we need to organized them
Yup~
by the way
I THINK THAT
Chapter 14 is really important
YEAH
I learned the style this semester
that's what teacher focus on
why
before, I would just post the website
or simply paste the name of the author
and would not do it in the rigt form
It is also important to search the online databases with concise keyword.
It's important to have work cited.
I usually ignored the citation in the past, too.
It's easy to forget
haha
take advantage of the websites
the digital resourses
yeah
So shall we start to organize our conversation
First of all, we have to discover our writing. We have to change our style of writing and the form of composing our works so as to meet different readers request.
Organize our writings with clear thesis statement, and remenber do not be vague in the writing.
We can make our paper better by revising.
Pay attention to our writings by using precise words and punctuation.
Avoid grammar and puntuation problems.
Do not confuse the readers.
Class discussion is also important. We can talk with our friends about our topics.
Everyone of us may point out the strong and weak point of our works.
Organize each paragraph logically. Make the argument and your interpretation clearly.
yeap
so let's divide our discussion into many parts
first, the general ideas about this book?? whcih parts affect you the most
Some general ideas have mentioned before.
I think the book gives me a useful skills about writing; And I think all of the parts are essential for me to develop the issue. Different parts focus on different skills.
Later on could we compose our 500 words of book review by using some of the sentences in our conversation
Or shall we write the entire one with different styles and ways
so do we need to distribute these jobs
Maybe it works.
or we need to find someone to puzzle our discussion up
I do not know what the teacher wants
haha
Me, either.....
XDD
She wants us to introduce the book
and point out what's our favorite part of the book.
so how shall we divide our work
first, who is responsible to make a concise introduction of this book?
and then
some people do the middle parts
what are our favorite parts
this can use our diologues
what do you think about
Or we could compose it with the dialogue over here
can we?
I don't think it is a good idea to separate one article into four parts
Yes~
I think we can take advantage of the dialogues.
and write the chapter we liked
yeah
this mentioned beforeXD
We can write the introduction, our favorite and impressed chapters, and then what we have used in our paper.
YEAH
Do you mean that we have to introduce some main points in each chapter Each one provide introduction of some chapters
I agree.
So~
So~
the generanl introduction of this book
genearl introduction
I can organize that in the papers
just like you need to introduce this book to other people
by means of the dialogue
and I would send them to one of you
That's all?
and then send it to the third people
and to the forth
how about that
I think I can do that part myself
She wants us to introduce the book
and point out what's our favorite part of the book.
So?
what
so we would do the separate part
so who is going to combine ti
it
We need to have the same introduction?
the generanl introduction of this book
Sorry, I do not know what I should do now
I will do that
just like you need to introduce this book to other people
only a person need to do that
